“Louis Daugerre is considered to be the inventor of modern photography when on August 19, 1839 he let the world in on his daguerreotype process, which permanently recorded optical images.

However, the world’s first photograph was take thirteen years earlier when in 1826 Joseph Niepce captured an image of farm buildings on a pewter plate after an amazing 8 hours exposure time.” Source
